NWS Felted Mural Update

IMG_0328

What a treat I am having working with this class of 22 spirit-ed and spirit-ful students! This group is so focused and cooperative they practically teach themselves. We’ve had two sessions so far. Enjoy these glimpses in to our process.

Here we are in our first session making the prefelt for the project.

In our second session I first spoke to the kids about the meaningfulness of the Tree of Life image in my life.

Funny but until one of the kids connected the dots for me I had not thought about my fascination (obsession?) for Tree of Life images and the fact the my Hebrew name אילנה ilana means……..

wait for it……………..

Tree!

They moved into the design phase with a mindfulness that was astounding. The classroom buzzed with the murmur of plans and ideas but the mood of the session remained thoughtful, respectful and remarkably quiet throughout.

Good luck getting people behind this one. Though you make some VERY fascinating points, you’re going to have to do more than bring up a few things that may be different than what we’ve already heard. What are trying to say here? What do you want us to think? It seems like you can’t really get behind a unique thought. Anyway, that's just my opinion.
